Two Men Charged for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder following the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
